Pickler's childhood was a rocky one. At the age of two her mother fled to avoid an abusive situation. Pickler's mother returned in 1995 to her life and took complete custody. But things did not turn around as planned. The grandparents of Pickler raised Pickler from age 12 to the age of adulthood. Since she was not with her parents, Pickler was too busy as a mother to her kids. She said that because she was not able to devote time to studying, she began to master cooking and clean at an early age. Pickler was the cheerleader at the middle and high school.
