Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer and actress is very famous. Her mom raised her in the USA, where she faced numerous racial slurs that left her feeling like someone who was not wanted. When she was in 9th grade she started to feel more secure after being praised by her teachers when she sang at the school's audition. This not only increased her confidence but also changed the direction she pursued in her career. At 22, she graduated from the New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. Her most memorable break came from the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great praise for the performance. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater appreciation. Also, she is a well-known singer and has released an extended play. In her role as an activist, she is a tireless advocate for LGBT equality.
